Linpico continues to develop its expertise in the field of Public Finance Management with a particular focus on PFM Education. In South Africa we have recently developed a PFM Education, Training and Development delivery model with funding from the European Union and in March we started performance of a World Bank financed contract in Mauritania to support and provide training to staff in the Ministry of Finance for the implementation of the Government’s Public Finance Management Reform Action Plan.
RECENTLY AWARDED EUROPEAID FRAMEWORK CONTRACTS
FOCUS ON THE INDIAN OCEAN
Linpico has recently successfully completed a number of assignments in the Indian Ocean. These include assisting the Government of Seychelles with the implementation of an important Public Administration Reform Programme (WB funded) and the completion of an 18-month training programme in Comoros on budget preparation, control in budget execution, external scrutiny and audit of public finances.
Earlier this year we also completed the PEFA assessment in Comoros and assisted the African Development Bank with producing their Flagship report on regional integration in the Indian Ocean and programming assistance in the areas of energy, infrastructure, private sector development, tourism, environment and social sectors.
New Contract Award in Egypt
Linpico is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a new EuropeAid-funded contract to provide technical assistance to build the capacities of the Ministry of International Cooperation in the field of planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Egypt.
The overall objective of the project will be to develop and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating functions of the Ministry of International Cooperation, in order to optimise the allocation of Official Development Assistance to Egypt in line with current aid effectiveness principles. Through the provision of better aid management, the project thus aims to contribute to the socio-economic welfare of the country.
The project, which commences in the middle of November, will last for the duration of two years. It will involve a team of four experts in the field, as well as in-house Linpico staff, who will be working closely with the Ministry of International Cooperation in Egypt in order to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the contract.
